Football’s Unite for a Cause: Alea Drives iGaming’s Commitment to Social Responsibility at Legends Charity Game

The stadium lights of Jose Alvalade Stadium in Lisbon will shine brighter than usual on Monday, September 15. It’s not just another football match; it’s a powerful statement about the evolving role of the iGaming industry in global society. As a proud sponsor of the Legends Charity Game, Alea, a leading casino game aggregator, is helping to demonstrate how a sector built on technology and entertainment can leverage its influence for meaningful, real-world change. From Game Aggregation to Global Impact: The “Why” Behind the Sponsorship The core of Alea’s brand identity is about empowerment through clarity and simplicity. We believe operators deserve freedom, not friction. This ethos extends beyond our business model and into our corporate philosophy. The sponsorship of the Legends Charity Game is a direct expression of this belief. This event, led by Rasmus Sojmark, CEO and Founder of Sport Global, brings together an incredible lineup of football icons. Legends like Luís Figo, Deco, Ricardo Carvalho, and Fábio Coentrão will play alongside international stars such as Peter Schmeichel, Edwin van der Sar, Patrice Evra, and Kaká. Their goal isn’t just to score goals, but to raise over €1 million for communities affected by war and local conflicts around the world. This initiative matters because it proves that industries can be a force for good. In a statement, Alea Founder Alexandre Tomic highlighted this responsibility. “The iGaming industry has matured into a sector with significant global influence and resources,” he said. “As industry leaders, we have an opportunity, and a responsibility, to demonstrate that our sector’s growth can drive positive change beyond business metrics. When visionary initiatives like this emerge, industry leaders must step forward. This is how we shape not just the future of iGaming, but the industry’s role in addressing global challenges.” How iGaming is Stepping Up For years, the iGaming industry’s focus was primarily on technological innovation and market growth. While these remain critical, a new focus on iGaming social responsibility is emerging. Alea’s involvement in this event is a testament to this shift. Our sponsorship aligns with a broader vision of elevating industry standards in every dimension. From our technical excellence and banking-grade security standards to our commitment to ethical operations and community impact, we believe every aspect of our business should serve a higher purpose. This event is a clear example of that commitment in action. The funds raised will directly support four vital organizations: the Ukrainian Red Cross, Portuguese Red Cross, International Alert, and Caritas Portugal. Each of these charities works on the front lines, providing essential aid and support to those most in need. As Rasmus Sojmark, Founder of Sport Global, stated, “Beyond being trusted partners in business, it’s wonderful to come together for something bigger, watching football legends on the pitch while backing four incredible charities. It’s proof that our industry can give so much when we unite.” Beyond the Pitch: A New Benchmark for Industry Leadership The Legends Charity Game is more than a one-time event; it’s a beacon for the entire iGaming industry. It showcases how a sector that has become a global economic force can use its resources and reach to address pressing global challenges. For Alea, this is a natural extension of our own core values. Our business is built on trust, which we earn through operational excellence, secure technology, and strong human relationships. We provide a secure, scalable API that connects operators to over 16,000 games from 160+ top-tier providers. Our focus on iGaming innovation is demonstrated not just in the ease of our single-API integration, but also in our strategic partnerships, such as our recent strengthening of our cybersecurity framework with Continent 8 and achieving VAPT certification. Furthermore, our exclusive payment gateway, Alea Pay, is an example of our holistic approach. It’s a solution born from our commitment to simplifying and enhancing the operator experience, not just in content but in every facet of their business. This event demonstrates that technical prowess and business success are not mutually exclusive from social good. They can, and should, be intertwined. The match, which will be broadcast globally, will reach millions of viewers worldwide, serving as a powerful platform to raise awareness about both the charities and the evolving ethical landscape of the online gaming industry. By supporting the Legends Charity Game, Alea is proud to play a role in shaping the conversation around corporate social responsibility in our sector. We’re showing that iGaming companies can and will continue to be leaders in creating positive change, one step—and one game—at a time.

Jordi Sendra, CEO at Alea, being interviewed by Games Magazine Brasil at BiS SiGMA Americas 2025, in São Paulo.

Interview: Alea Aggregator in Brazil, a Strong Presence at BiS SiGMA Americas

During the BiS SiGMA Americas event in São Paulo, our CEO, Jordi Sendra, shared insights with Games Magazine Brasil about Alea’s robust expansion in Brazil and the steps we’ve taken to support local operators ahead of market regulation. With more than 30 game providers already certified and the official launch of our exclusive payment solution, AleaPay, we’re proving our commitment to the region. Jordi highlighted how these moves, alongside a fully upgraded Customer Area—position Alea as the aggregator with the largest volume of ready-to-integrate content in Brazil. “We’re ready for regulation,” Jordi explained. “We’ve established a local entity, removed withholding tax barriers for clients, and developed solutions that empower operators to be fully autonomous.” Key Upgrades & Challenges Our revamped Customer Area allows operators to view game data, prize history, and even access round-by-round screenshots to resolve disputes. Enhanced BI tools now give deep insights into performance by supplier, game type, or specific titles. However, the path wasn’t without hurdles. Certifying over 150 suppliers required close collaboration and coordination. Many regulatory guidelines came late, adding pressure to the timeline. “Our team was 100% focused on this in the last four months,” Jordi said. A Human-Centric Approach to Partnerships At Alea, strong personal relationships guide our partnerships. “We believe in building genuine connections and always look for win-win outcomes that benefit suppliers, us, and the operators,” Jordi emphasized. Looking Ahead Despite a challenging start to 2025—when a significant volume of games was temporarily offline due to certification delays—the market is showing signs of recovery. Alea is optimistic about the months ahead, particularly for licensed operators prepared to scale. “By the end of the year, we expect to see operators reaping the benefits of their investment in regulation.” We’re proud of the tireless work our partnerships, legal, and account management teams have done to support this transition in Brazil. And we’re just getting started. 🔗 Read the full original interview in Games Magazine Brasil.
